Vote on November 2, 2010, 6am - 9pm! Get to your designated polling site early so a poll worker can assist you with the new paper ballot.


It's been almost a century, 97 years since all State Wide Offices were open for election. Don't sit back and wait for change to come. Get out and vote!


Governor/Lieutenant Governor

Andrew Cuomo (D), (Lieutenant Governor, Bob Duffy)

Ticket: Democratic; Working Families; Independence

History: Reputable politician/son of former Governor Mario Cuomo; current Attorney General

Platform: Pushing to implement gay marriage; endorsed abortion-rights; “restore trust and accountability in albany”; cut offices but hire more qualified government representatives; reestablish New York as the job capital of the nation


Carl Paladino ( R ) (Lieutenant Governor, Greg Edwards)

Ticket: Republican; Conservative

History: Former City Council man; Buffalo Real Estate Developer

Platform: Support by Tea Party;reduce State spending 20 % by cutting the hospital budget and salaries of doctors and non-union workers; require a year of in state residency to be accepted into the welfare and medicaid program to reduce the cost by 10 billion dollars; cut State agencies that don't benefit the taxpayer; reduce taxes by 10 % and implement a law to make it more difficult to raise taxes; give manufacturers a tax holiday to reinvest in the economy and create new jobs; anti-abortion; send welfare recipients to work camps; Against Gay marriage but not against the gay lifestyle


Charles Barron, (Freedom) (Lieutenant Governor, Eva Doyle)

Ticket: Freedom

History: Current City Council Member

Platform: Impose taxes on stock transfers; impose taxes on commuters; waive the cost of tuition at the City University of New York; implement laws to decrease NYPD racial profiling; increase ethnic equality and fair representation at the State levels


Kristin Davis, (Anti-Prohibition) (Lieutenant Governor, Tanya Gendelman)

Ticket: Anti-Prohibition

History: Current Financial Consultant; testified to hiring escorts for former Governor, Eliot Spitzer

Platform: Legalize same sex-marriage; legalize and tax marijuana and prostitution


Howie Hawkins, (Green) (Lieutenant Governor, Gloria Mattera)

Ticket: Green Party

History: UPS Employee; Advocate for social justice & employee rights

Platform: Increase taxes on the wealthy; implement “Green New Deal” to provide resources to expand renewable energy operations; promote and expand organic agriculture


Jimmy McMillan, (Rent Is 2 Damn High) (No Running Mate)

Ticket: Rent Is 2 Damn High

History: New York Postal Service Retiree

Platform: Reduce property taxes; impose rent freezes


Warren Redlich, Libertarian (Lieutenant Governor, Alden Link)

Ticket: Libertarian

History: Lawyer, Entrepreneur

Platform: Impose salary caps and pension caps on State workers; Reduce state offices

Thomas P. NaPoli, Democrat

Ticket: Democrat; Working Families

History: Current State Comptroller; former State Assembly man

Platform: cap debt and require voters to approve extensions; lowering taxes including property taxes; against term limits


Harry Wilson, Republican

Ticket: Republican; Independence; Conservative

History: Endorsed by Mayor Bloomberg; Financial Analyst; Member of the President's Auto Task Force;

Platform:Get government spending under control by enforcing fiscal discipline; implement a more cost effective pension tier; implement and enforce term limits;

Ticket: Green

History: Environmental Activist; Advocate for peace and social justice; Former mayoral candidate; 2006 candidate for Comptroller; Teacher; Co-Presidents of the Green Parties Of America's and more

John Gaetani, Libertarian

History:25 years experience in State Accounting and Auditing

Platform:Work with the Governor to reorganize State Offices and reduce spending; improve the efficacy, efficiency and economic operations of the muncipal government, Education Board and Law Enforcement; Properly Fund the Pension Fund; allow the labor force and taxpayers to work together to create investment strategies
